Why do people use cliches? To protect feelings perhaps, to protect themselves? We all use them from them from time to time but some times perhaps the truth is better. How often have we heard “it isn’t you it’s me.” Or in this case “it wasn’t meant to be”. If you believe in a higher power then perhaps someone or something IS directing matters but if you don’t then that little white lie, that little sugar coating, can hurt more than the truth would.
