Hey Folks,
This is Walter Rhein. I’m the author of “Beyond Birkie Fever” among other things. Before I say anything more about myself, I’d like to thank Alex Butcher for having me on her blog!
Anyway, I write both fantasy, and something else that can best be described and humorous, self-deprecating fiction. “Birkie” is the later. It’s a book about cross-country ski racing of all things–and if that sounds horrifically dull you can think of it as a travel book (you have to travel to get to snow and the travel adventures are included).
“Birkie” has actually done really well, although the original publisher (Rhemalda) ceased operations recently. Oddly, that has led to a deluge of projects for me, which is kind of awesome.
These days, I find myself wasting entirely too much time on Facebook. When I’m not antagonizing people for their stupid, fact-misrepresenting political memes, I’m having wonderful discussions with talented authors on my “Heroic Fantasy” group (Alex is included in that group of talented authors by the way).
Shortly, I’ll be releasing a post-apocalyptic fantasy/zombie novel (there’s also some fun with hallucinogenic drugs) with Janet Morris of Perseid Publishing. Janet Morris is actually a famous writer having penned many of the Thieves’ World and Sanctuary books. It’s been a blast working with her.
